Moss Webster

Moss Webster

Moss has been a Coastal resident for about 10 years. Although his love for the local theater, community, and his growth as a chef through the culinary scene here has made this his home, it’s his deep admiration and connection to the surrounding ecosystem that keeps him passionate about life.

” I am blessed to have found a place in this Coastal rainforest and to have the chance to help build our Emerald Collective. There is so much to learn and share in these woods and at our shore. We plan to do that with the arts and fellowship!”

Liz Fox

Liz Fox

My desire to connect and communicate drives my art and the concern I feel for our planet draws me to be part of the Emerald Curtain Collective. I enjoy sculpting masks of key species that help educate others about our unique ecosystems.

I’ve lived on the Oregon coast for most of my life and navigated a sea of careers since graduating with a Soil Science degree from OSU in 1980. Retiring as a high school librarian in 2020, I’ve been a full-time artist ever since, diving into the riptide I’ve waded in for over 40 years. My marine biologist husband, Dave and I have 2 amazing children, 3 unruly dogs, and live on a swamp between Newport and Toledo.

Laura Buchanan

Laura Buchanan

Laura is a gardener and a dried floristry artist; trying to capture the fleeting natural beauty of flowers for a moment longer. Gathering flowers at the peak of their glow, as well as after the petals fall–and the seed heads and pods’ beauty of texture emerge. Then drying them into their second life where color softens, petals curl and stems twist.

She also adds to her work elements crafted from wool, felt and paper. Celebrating the softness, texture and imperfect charm of organic materials. A world where nothing wilts, it simply transforms– allowing nature’s impermanence a moment longer.
