Dear Senator,

Please vote no on the so-called “Fix Our Forests Act.” Our communities, wildlife, and public lands deserve real solutions to the threat of wildfire—not handouts to corporate logging interests.

Supporters of this bill are exploiting the public's understandable fear of wildfire to remove critical protections for public lands at a time when we need them most. Our communities deserve better. The Trump administration is already working to gut environmental laws, expand logging, and rescind the Roadless Rule. Now is not the time to give in to corporate interests that seek to profit at the expense of our forests and communities.

This misleading bill fails to invest in the proven wildfire strategies that save lives and livelihoods: home hardening, defensible space, and community emergency planning. Instead, it weakens the Endangered Species Act and eliminates essential safeguards for vulnerable fish and wildlife. It also undermines the National Environmental Policy Act, making it easier for the Trump administration to push through destructive logging projects without public input. On top of that, it shortens the judicial review period for such projects, placing an unfair burden on frontline communities and Tribes who deserve a fair voice in managing our shared public lands.
