“Roots and Revelry”, Crafting with a Cause

May 4 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Join us for an afternoon of connection, creativity, and collective action.

We’re welcoming new volunteers to the Emerald Curtain Collective—and we want to meet you. Whether you’re an artist, activist, forest-lover, or just curious about what we do, this is a chance to get rooted in the work.

We’re hosting a casual meet & greet, paired with some hands-on art-making for our next production in June for World Ocean Day, as well as preparing parade puppets for events in May. We hope to have our volunteers’ artistic contributions on display at the Newport Visual Arts Center during Bloom Newport, and you can sign up to help use them for our upcoming events!

In addition, for those interested in our current call to actions and activism, we will have information about public comment writing for the Oregon State Forest Annual timber Operational Plan (AOP).

Expect laughter, inspiration, and for sure a little glue and paint on your fingers. Come grow with us.

All are welcome. No experience necessary and no need to bring anything except a passion for art and our environment!
