“Threads of Light” at World Ocean Day
June 8 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Combining original live music with collaborative art and puppetry to honor the partnership between scientists, hake fishermen, and net builders Sarah and John Skamser of Foulweather Trawl. They had to work together to solve a big problem that was closing their season early.
Their innovative collaboration helped our Pacific hake fishing fleet “do it right” by creating lighted windows for the salmon to escape from. This has been minimizing bycatch and increasing local Hake fishing sustainability for the last 15 years!
Two Performances: Jun 8 at 11AM & 1PM Hatfield Marine Science Center Visitor Center Auditorium
FREE event included in your HMSC admission for World Ocean Day.
